Center for Inclusive Computing at Northeastern (CIC)
About CIC
Founded in 2019, the CIC is partnering with over 100 universities across the U.S. to improve access to computing education. The CIC works with university presidents, provosts, deans, chairs, and faculty to remove institutional barriers and implement research-backed interventions to expand students’ opportunities to discover, persist in, and graduate from computing programs.
CIC team members are experts in education, university administration, broadening participation in computing, computing research, and student advising–and we share a passion for driving systemic change in university computing education. The CIC hires Technical Advisors to leverage the expertise of computing faculty and administrators from around the country. Our experts work as consultants to the CIC, engaging directly with our Partner Schools to support the implementation of their systemic change plans.
Consortium Involvement
We are excited to work on helping CIC partner schools determine the correct timing and method for introducing generative AI into learning to code and to ensure that all students regardless of prior coding experience are supported in their discovery and education of CS.
